Hampton By Hilton Edinburgh West End, hotel in Edinburgh

Located within a 5-minute walk of EICC and a 12-minute walk of Edinburgh Castle, Hampton By Hilton Edinburgh West End in Edinburgh features a fitness center and rooms with free WiFi.

Despite a 3 stars, this hotel had all the comfort we need. The room is quite spacey. In particular we loved the several surfaces where to lay stuff and clothes. Table, tv table, 2 bed tables, spacey closet, a chair , a poef and a couch. Surfaces are really important to store belongings while on vacation. Special mention to the bathroom, we believe it was recently updated. The shower was amazing and big! The basin quite spacey. The hotel was clean and comfortable . There is no fridge in the room but that was not a problem for us. Only 10/12 minutes walking from city center, a convenient supermarket 3 minutes walking. Check in and check out was very fast.

The breakfast and coffee was very good until the construction of the restaurant. It changed from delicious to very low average . The elevator didn’t work for a day and kept changing when you got in from going up to going down and up for everyone which was inconvenient. Staff excellent. Location excellent. Beds and pillows excellent. We had a nice view and airy room excellent. Quiet room excellent

FAQ about pet-friendly hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

One of my favourite cities in the world.

One of my favourite cities in the world. I went there as a child regularly, buy hadn't been for a quarter of a century. The historic centre is still wonderful, and walkable. And it's now tbh much nicer than when I was a kid, much cleaner. And has things like trams. It's perfect by train, because the station is slap-bang in the nice bit and is not overwhelmed by volume of miserable passengers like in e.g. Paris or London. And all the really good bits like the castle, Arthurs Seat, Princes St and Scott monument, are all walkable.

Loved the architecture and the many alleyways that led to different parts of the city - lots of places to eat and drink - trams and buses are an excellent was to get around. Very busy place but if you come off the Royal Mile it’s a little quieter

We took a taxi from our hotel to the start of the Golden Mile then walked into the Castle quadrant, There were a great number of visitors at the Castle mostly foreign tourists, we enjoyed being there, however there was a lot of scaffolding and gantries being built and a number of maintenance vehicles parked which rather spoilt the views. Edinburgh is a wonderful city, the atmosphere is brilliant and the Scottish people very friendly

A cosmopolitan city with a strong local atmosphere. Great architecture. Fine museums of international standard. Local transport easy to use. Lovely views, also outside city if venturing to Stirling or Dundee. Not a lot of restaurants serving Scottish food, but they can be found if you look for them. Will definitely be coming back.

The location was great, only a few mins drive into the city centre with buses every few mins, including one to and from the airport (only takes 10 mins). The staff were so helpful and friendly and the accommodation was stunning. Everything was so clean and comfortable. When we had a problem, they sorted it straight away and ensured we had the best stay possible. I’ve been to Edinburgh several times in the past and this was the best property I’ve stayed at, hands down! This includes a number of chain hotels.

The location is fabulous - it's located on Victoria Street, a colorful street with nice little shops and restaurants and "Old Town" architecture. It is also 2/3 minutes away from the Royal Mile and the Castle. It's really in the heart of old town Edinburgh. The staff were so nice and attentive. We traveled with a baby and they gave her a little unicorn book (that we came to learn is Scotland's national animal). The hotel decor is bold and the room was spacious, comfortable, and again with bold decor.

The location suited us as central Edinburgh is not a good place to have a car and bus travel to/from the city centre was efficient and reasonably priced (even running late into the evening).
