The medina was a really busy, bustling place & a bit like a halfway point to being in India. As there are so many small streets, alleys it can be quite difficult to get your bearings/find your way around. This was so even after we'd had a really good guided tour around the medina, on the afternoon that we arrived.
There are many interesting places to see in the city, but the best part was just wandering around getting a feel for the bustling medina, its shops & markets.
There are many good restaurants @ very reasonable prices, although being an Islamic country, there weren't many places selling alcohol.
Beyond suggesting a guided tour by a local to get a feel for the place, I'd also highly recommend a day walking tour of the Atlas mountains to get a feel for how people live outside the big city.

Incredible city with lots of activities to do. Walking trough the souks and bargaining is a very cool experience. I highly recommend visiting the sahara desert, ouzoud falls and going horse riding. The people are very genuine and nice. We loved our time here.

The old part of Marrakech is lovely with lots to see such as Bahia Palace, El Badia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the various Souks. Restaurants were great value for money. I also went on a couple of excursions to the Atlas Mountains and to the port city of Essaouira. The only downside is that it in the old town its difficult to find a place that serves alcohol.

A nice place if you like the hustle and bustle and don't...
A nice place if you like the hustle and bustle and don't mind having bikes, scooters, and donkeys all coming towards you at all times. People in Marrakech drive like maniacs, there is no transit control and pedestrian areas are no existent so you walk in small alleyways with all the mentioned, it does get a bit stressful but that's their custom. Also, for women wear modestly to avoid unwanted attention from men who will not be afraid to overstep, so if you do not want to have a bad experience dress modestly, long dresses and loose-fitted clothes are a must to visit this place. Another thing is that shopping will be a tiresome experience, in every shop within the souk you will have to hagle and hagle and hagle, by the 3rd shop you will be drained! There is no point in checking in one place and then another, if you find something buy it and hagle otherwise is unlikely to find it somewhere else for a different price. They start with very high prices like for a T-shirt for men they started at 150 dirams, offered 50, they said 130, offered 55 etc. ended buying for 80 = £6. Bangels started at 150 each and ended up paying 60 for 2. There are a handful of shops with fix prices so these are a welcome break.
Be very wise and know that to them you are a walking EUR, Dollar and Pound sign. To make the most of your money do exchange a little bit at the airport just in case but go to the ALI hotel for the best rate in the city, go there early to avoid queueing.

Food was great, and there was something to suit every budget. As an olive lover, I was in heaven! Shopping was plentiful, souks but also some real stores - everything seemed to be available - wish we had more of a luggage allowance! People were in the majority extremely nice, people made an effort to speak to you and welcome you (even young children in the streets) we found bartering in the souks a very pleasant and fun experience, shop owners were knowledgeable of their goods and the skill and craftmanship was great.
Dislike - people (mainly young men) insisting that ‘this way is closed’ when navigating the medina, to try and misguide you - some would even proceed to follow you and make you uncomfortable- such a minority of people but it was a daily occurrence that we really didn’t enjoy, even though we expected it from reading other traveller reviews and our Riad concierge warning us.
This property should be rated 4 star for its excellent staff, service and amenities. I LOVED everything about the property. The conscience when I was feeling lazy to walk down stairs and have a 5 star meal was awesome. I loved that it was centrally located to a shopping area, the overwhelming choice of places to eat that’s only a 5 min walk. The entire staff spoiled me my entire time. I extended my stay twice. I left and checked into another hotel for two days in another area of the city, but ended back at a Le Caspien.
One of the best places we have ever stayed! Everything about the Riad is amazing. The interior is beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed; two pools, roof top terrace, lovely, comfortable rooms. The team went out of their way to be helpful, especially Amine. They organised airport transfers, private tour guides, meals, massage etc. Nothing was too much trouble. I have stayed in some top class 5 star hotels, Riad Misria exceeded the service, ambiance and comfort of many these 5 star hotels. Relaxed and unpretentious.
Fantastic hotel in Gueliz, only 20 min walk to Medina. The rooftop pool was such a treat on sunny days. The restaurant downstairs was top notch, we had octupus and lamb burger the 1st night, both excellent. Breakfast was superb! Lots of choice and fresh coffees. What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff. They were extremely attentative and hospitable. Mohammed, Malal and Maryam provided 5 star customer service evey day and we can't thank them enough for making our stay so comfortable.
An excellent hostel to stay at when you are in Marrakech. I must say that it is an incredible Riad with all the services working perfectly. The rooms have air conditioning, warm water, and good beds. There are also some really great facilities in the hotel: a swimming pool, a rooftop terrace and a bar (which serves alcohol :)). The service was excellent and deserves a 5 star rating. It is also located in a good area, which is not overly centric, but close to everything that you might need.
First impressions were good, it’s advertised as a 5 star international hotel ,I would rate it a morrocan 3star hotel .the coffee table was dirty the net curtain filthy and ripped birds nesting in light on balcony messing on floor, fan in the bathroom didn’t work only one cup no glasses the three piece sweat was crap only one coffee per day, breakfast 7:00 to 1030 at 8:30 no cups no glasses no fresh orange food run out no bread fit toast tables not reset no tea spoons
Super friendly hosts treating you a lot like the typical Riad hosts throughout Morocco (Marrakesh had less of these good hosts) that have tea and want to invite you into their home. Shared bathroom is only 2 rooms as the other rooms have their own showers. Hot water was nice. They prepared a breakfast for us at 6:30 to take on our trip to the desert, which was very kind of them.
A very warm welcome. very friendly staff and owner.
The grounds and swimming pool are beautiful, taken care off by a team of gardeners who also anticipate guest's needs ... as I was on a lounger, one gardener brought over a cushion for my head to rest on. This is the sort of service you get in 5 star hotels.
The breakfast was particularly good.
Hotel is 3 stars, but feels like 4 or 5 stars. Clean rooms, great location, and mainly amazing service, staff in reception, restaurant, doorman, coffee shop, room service, housekeeping, all going extra miles to provide us with the best service we ever expect.
Special thanks to Olaya, very kind, communication skilled and always helpful.
It’s kind of hidden in the old medina streets, but when we called the property and said we’re lost Ahmed met and picked us to the hotel. The location on Booking is not accurate. Use the one in Google Maps instead. Breakfast is pretty good. Location is also fine. Ahmed & Muhammad, you guys are the best in Morocco!!
the hotel is a very nice hidden gem in Marrakesh. it’s off the Main Street so it’s quiet and comfortable and the staff are super friendly and great hosts! Our stay also included a delicious breakfast pictured below. If I visit Morocco again I will definitely be returning to this gem
The central location was so ideal, and it was incredible to be so close to the main Square and right in the city! It was also just a fun atmosphere for being in Morocco the first time and the open air hotel, and all of the rooms just had a very good vibe!
The hotel is amazing, everything you may need. You are also served a very tasty breakfast in the hotel. Everyone was very helpful. The only downside is that it is very hard to find with just Google maps as it doesn’t accurately work in Marrakesh - Medina.
It is not a 5 star hotel: it has a level of a 4 star hotel. So still pretty great. It is clean and the breakfast is nice. Nice to see that the hotel is attended by the locals and not only the tourists.
This is my second time staying here. Very pleasant and great all inclusive - cheap and reliable shuttle bus into Medina, variety of food buffet options for vegans, evening entertainment and pool great
I had an excellent experience in staying at the Hotel Lawrence d'Arabie, I will definitely recommend it to anybody who's looking for an affordable but 5 stars accommodation in the centre of Marrakech
The host kindly allowed me to store my bag behind the reception desk whilst I roamed around Marrakesh on departure day. The hotel is within the Marrakesh Medina so close to the famous market.
